Experiences
At Riverview Riding and Wellness we offer experiences that focus on helping our friends and clients discover how horses can assist us in our journey to being the best versions of ourselves. Our passion is helping people, therefore we customize our programs to the needs of our clients. We have weekly programs, bi-weekly programs, monthly programs, individual sessions and group sessions. Our goal is not just riding lessons. It's not just personal growth. It's a mix of mindfulness, learning, growth, awareness, and learning how to ride, all rolled into one program.

Personal Experiences
Functionality You Will Love
01
Building Confidence
Personal Equine Assisted Learning (PEAL) uses horses to boost self-confidence through genuine emotional expression. Horses respond positively when humans authentically express their feelings, creating a transformative experience. PEAL fosters self-awareness by teaching participants to notice and acknowledge their emotions and the horses' reactions, leading to enhanced confidence, awareness, and personal growth
02
Increased Self Awareness
Horses, as prey animals, possess heightened senses that allow them to detect subtle changes in their environment instantly. They can perceive the smallest movements, hear soft sounds, and feel even minor sensations like a mosquito landing. Their ability to read human emotions, body language, and moods provides instant biofeedback, reflecting our feelings, thoughts, attention, and emotional congruence. This immediate mirroring enables us to make corrective adjustments in real-time, enhancing our awareness and emotional alignment
03
Stress Reduction
Personal Equine Assisted Learning (PEAL) offers a therapeutic approach to stress management through serene interactions with horses. Riding and grooming create bonds and relaxation, set in peaceful surroundings. These activities reduce stress, promote relaxation, and foster mindfulness. By focusing on the present moment, participants connect authentically with their horses, shifting from "human doing" to "human being." This natural state of being is facilitated by the horse, providing a tranquil environment for personal growth and self-discovery.
Family Experiences
Functionality You Will Love
01
Educational Opportunities
Family Equine Assisted Learning provides educational opportunities for families to engage in equine health activities together, fostering shared learning about equine anatomy, behavior, and care. This experiential learning process not only strengthens family bonds but also deepens awareness of the equine world. It encourages reflection on how we interact with horses and parallels this with how we interact within our family dynamics, promoting authenticity, clear communication, and mutual respect among family members.
02
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Family Equine Assisted Learning involves cooperative problem-solving and decision-making while working with horses. It encourages reflection on communication and respect for the horse as a family member. This approach fosters cooperative strategies and imparts valuable lessons applicable to various aspects of family life, enhancing problem-solving abilities and promoting a respectful and present approach to interactions with both horses and family members.
03
Quality Time
Family Equine Assisted Learning provides families with quality time through activities like riding, grooming, and stable care. Sessions typically involve catching, grooming, and checking the horse's health, followed by riding and tack care. Each family member cares for their horse, fostering accountability, ownership, and empathy. These shared experiences enhance communication and teamwork in a special and enriching environment, promoting mutual understanding and respect among family members while teaching valuable life skills.

Group Experiences
Functionality You Will Love
01
Emotional Well Being
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) harnesses horses' unique ability to provide emotional support and empathy in a nonjudgmental manner. Group interactions with horses promote emotional awareness, self-control, and coping skills, fostering a secure and transformative environment. These experiences strengthen emotional bonds among group members, enhancing long-term wellbeing for both humans and horses. Our monthly themed activities, such as Extreme Ownership and Communication Skills, teach effective relationship-building with humans and animals, emphasizing mindfulness, congruence, and self-esteem development.
02
Communication and Team Building
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) offers a dynamic platform for enhancing communication and teamwork skills. Interacting with horses requires clear communication, promoting better teamwork and congruence in expressing emotions. Horses are sensitive to authenticity and attention, making them effective teachers for individuals with ADHD, learning disabilities, or anxiety. Activities like grooming and overcoming challenges teach collaboration and build relationships, fostering effective communication and empathy. EAL is a transformative experience that develops vital interpersonal skills, promoting harmony and empathy with others.
03
Physical Health
Engaging in equine-related pursuits, like riding or tending to these majestic creatures, is a distinctive opportunity for physical activity among participants. Walking and leading horses, grooming them vigorously, cleaning out their hooves, cleaning their feed buckets, carrying and stacking hay, filling water buckets, sweeping, raking and poop-scooping, as well as stall cleaning, all build strong bones and muscles, increase cardiovascular activities, lowers blood pressure, and develops incredible physical and mental fitness. Interaction with horses is dynamic and not only offers an opportunity for outdoor exercise, but it also makes a major positive impact on our mental and physical health, and general well-being. People that participate in these activities enjoy being outside in addition to the physical benefits of exercise, which promotes a complete approach to health through Equine Assisted Learning.
